I'll always miss "Bunny." She was very sweet, forgiving, and artistic; and she was my first real girlfriend!

Her mother and my mother used to know each other in their high school days, over in Tridell and Lapoint, in the Uintah Basin. While "Bunny" and I were going together we had no idea of this, though (her mother realized it only after reading my grandfather's obituary in the paper, after "Bunny" and I had broken up). But, in a way, we were somewhat kindred spirits because of it, having come from the same "pioneer stock" that peopled eastern Utah.

Before "Bunny" died, I remember wanting to get back together with her, as she was such a special person. Losing her still saddens me tremendously.

I sat by Gwen in an English class.  It was such a shock when she passed and the seat was empty.  Our class suffered her loss and missed her.

I remember Gwen so well and thought so much of her. She was the girl with the golden smile. I remember Darwin and Gwen as boyfriend girlfriend and thought how wonderful a match. Gwen was in my Drivers Ed class when she passed away. It was our day to drive when I realized what had happened. It was a terrible nightmare. No one this special should have been taken so soon. God bless her family.

Through all the years since that night in 1968 when I'm driving  the turn on east  I-15, I think of Gwen.

Like others I finished the school year looking at her vacant desk and missed her smile and friendly conversations. Time passes so quickly and now our beauty is gone and we are grandparents. Gwen is still her beautiful youthful self.

I sat across the aisle from Gwen in 9th grade typing class.  Her gentle manner, kind smile and growing beauty were hard to resist.  If I had known she was Darwin Ross's girlfriend I would have been jealous!  I was so shocked to learn about her very untimely death and she still haunts my memory from time to time.
