Nancy McKinney (Robinson)

Nancy Eileen McKinney (Robinson) 56. The sun rose on Nancy Eileen McKinney Robinson in Tucson, Arizona on December 28, 1952 and the sun set in Phoenix, Arizona on February 3, 2009, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jana McKinney. She received her Bachelors' Degree in Sociology from the University of Arizona and her Masters' Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. She was a Social Worker for three years. She moved on to do what she loved best; working with children. She applied this love by working as Director of Cross Roads Preschool for over seven years and continued as Director of Shepherd of the Valley Preschool for over ten years. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter, and had a great love for animals. She had an equal love for traveling to East Hampton, New York and Oceanside, California. Survived by her husband of twenty-nine years, Leonard Eugene Robinson, and their daughters, Alicia Renee and Lindsey Nicole Robinson. Two stepsons, Leonard Eugene Robinson Jr. and Michael Schwertley, father, William McKinney, and sister, Cathy McKinney, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be designated to Shepherd of the Valley Preschool and the Arizona Humane Society, Sunnyslope Branch.   When we lose a fellow classmate memories of them still live through us and give us strength. The time we have spent with those we've lost makes them part of us.  Our thoughts are with all of you who have loved and lost.
