I knew Richard better in junior high than in high school. I remember hanging out with him and David Bournstein at the old Salt Lake Athletic Club and attending a couple of parties at his house. In the upperclass days at Skyline I lost track of him for the most part and had not seen him or heard anything of him until seeing him at the last big reunion. He told me about meeting his wife (while hiking, as I recall) and he seemed very happy. I am surprised and disappointed to hear of his passing. I was looking forward to speaking with him again at the next big reunion. Happy Trails, Richard!
