Randall Barker Obituary
Randall Wright Barker, "RB"
"RB" Our Hero
1952 ~ 2025
Holladay, UT - Our larger than life, one-of-a-kind, do good, hubby, daddy, grampa, brother and friend, Randall Wright Barker, "RB", loved us and left us suddenly on February 9, 2025 into the loving arms of his Savior. Born to Kenneth Kitchner and Myrle Elsie Barker on April 21, 1952 in Salt Lake City, UT. He married the love of his life, Linda Bohling in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1974. Recently celebrating 50 amazing years of marriage. Their five children, spouses and 19 grand kiddos are the light of their lives.
Randy and Linda met while both attending Skyline High School. "RB and LB" have been by each other's side ever since. After Randy graduated from the University of Utah he was employed at Western Wholesale Flooring where he worked tirelessly as everybody's "carpet guy" for the past 42 years.
Dad worked hard to play hard. He loved the outdoors, riding his bike, the Runnin' Utes and was thrilled to be a part of the chain gang on the football field for 26 years. On family vacations he was the life of the party and spent hours as captain of the SS Grizwald. He had gear for EVERY activity all marked with an "RB". Creating memories for our family is what mattered most. "It's all about the people". These treasured times will forever be imprinted in our hearts.
Mom and Dad don't just have friends. They have life long friends that are family. RB and LB's door is open to everyone, with a well-stocked pantry and unconditional love, the "country club" is a safe haven and second home to many.
Randy's legacy is that of a doer. He never stopped doing. He genuinely loved and unselfishly served anyone that came into his life, especially his sweetheart. He was keenly aware of others' needs, performing random acts of kindness often with a treat, hoping no one would notice. He gave his all in every calling he held for the gospel of Jesus Christ, as scout master RB, and most recently as Elders Quorum President. He did this and more with a smile on his face, a sarcastic remark and a laugh to share.
Grandpa "RB" forged individual and unique relationships with each child and grandchild, all knowing they are his favorite. Grampa's "Boot Camp" will now need to be directed from heaven. He called us his heroes. He is forever ours. We love you, RB.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and children: Ryan (Marilee), Alisha (Brandon) Doman, Brady (Becca), Dustin (Amanda), Cody (Brooke), his 19 grandchildren and side-kick Coco, his favorite pup. Sister Shauna Dorius, Brothers Jeff, and Dave (Debbie). Preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Beverly and Milton Bohling, brother-in-law Dick Dorius and sister-in-law Charlene Barker.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 18th, at 11am with a viewing prior from 10:00-10:45am at the Holladay 25th Ward 4650 South Naniloa Drive, Holladay. A viewing will also be held Monday, February 17th from 6-8pm at the same location.
Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary 3401 S. Highland Dr.

Randy was a friend since jr. high. And at the U. A fraternity brother. Really a great man. So, so sorry for Linda (the love of his life, as he often said) and his family. Damn, we've lost too many good people the last several years. In Rand's memory, have a physical checkup and make sure they evaluate your heart. Take care, all. Bob Bernick.

News that saddens me greatly. I knew Randy and Linda but not as closely as I would have liked. I'm pleased that they made a great life together. Life was better for his presence, less so now for his passing. I extend my condolences to Linda and the family.
