Therese Collett Bortolussi returned to the waiting arms of her mother and father on April 26, 2012. She was born on February 7, 1952 to D. Clyde and Elaine Collett in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Skyline High and went to USU for one year with a major in art. She married Lynn Dale Bortolussi in the Salt Lake Temple on January 16, 1974.
Therese was a kind, talented, and selfless woman who constantly put others' needs before her own. She saw beauty in everything and in everyone. Her family was her life. She was a wonderful mother to her five children and grandmother to three grandchildren. She delighted in everything they did and supported them in their great times and in their trials. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She uplifted everyone she knew through love, kindness, and sincerity and freely gave of herself through service. Therese was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and served faithfully in her assigned callings. She took after her father in that there was nothing she could not do. She believed strongly in hard work, resourcefulness, and self-sufficiency. She loved the satisfaction of working with her hands and developing new talents. Therese had a truly amazing gift with art and displayed her talent with beautiful murals on her and her children's walls. Words cannot express how much we will miss you.
Her parents passed on before her in 2004, and 2011. She is survived by her husband, Lynn, and her children Brett (Shawna) Bortolussi, Niccole Bortolussi, Kissy (Tracy) Marley, Shari (Scott) Cosco, Cameron (Amanda) Bortolussi, and three grandchildren: Brody, Weston, and Levi. She also leaves behind her sisters, Kathleen (LaVar) McAllister, and Marcia (Jerry) Warner, and her brother Mark (Lisa) Collett.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rosecrest Ward, 3101 South 2300 East, where friends and family can visit from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
