Kim died in March, 1984 from a rare form of cancer that he felt was linked to his exposure as a "Downwinder" growing up in Cedar City. He was my best buddy and I've missed him so much over the years.
Kim was a very fun guy. I never got to know him outside of school, but I remember him to be very sociable and looking for a laugh. It is very probable that growing up in Cedar City made him a downwind victim (just like the movie stars of the westerns that were shot in Monument Valley, like John Wayne). I'm sure he was a great buddy, as he seemed to be very active and wanting to do things!
Kim and I became friends during junior high school. We spent many hours hiking together in Millcreek Canyon. His death was very sad for his family and friends. His younger sister DeeDee plans to attend our 40th reunion.
I had an art class with Kim at Skyline. What I remember most was that great smile of his. I always wondered what happened to him. Such a sad story. He was very young.
Kim was a special guy. His father and my father worked together for the Forest Service, and they were great friends. Our families were quite close. I actually dated Kim not long before he passed away. His memory lives in my heart.
Henry Louis Ketchie--his killer smile and wry wit won me over. Weaseled him into taking me to one of the school dances--forget which one now. Here's to watching the lights over the valley and talking about what we were going to do with ourselves. (cue Peter, Paul, and Mary) Sorry to hear he left us so soon...

Still think of him. He was my first boyfriend. I remember buying him a bunny.
