Welcome to the Skyline High School Class Of 1970 message center. Please press "Post Response" to participate in the discussion. Let's talk and talk and talk!
Can't believe it has been 40 years already! So glad we're getting together and I really appreciate all the work everyone is putting into this as well as all the fun events in the works.
I am still looking for the unknown Steve who took me to graduation dance! See below.
A really nice guy named "Steve" from my Chemistry or Physics class took me to Graduation Dance in Spring 1970. We dined at the Pagoda (So Temple and the Avenues) before the dance. When we arrived at the dance, I avoided him the entire time? We didn't dance one dance together. Why? I have no clue except that I was an idiot! Read on.....it gets worse!
To add insult to injury, after the dance we were out driving around, I fell asleep in the front seat! How bad is that? I really owe this nice guy "Steve" a HUGE apology for being a such an idiotic fool and ungrateful, horrible date!!! Please help me find you STEVE!!! STEVE, please identify yourself to me so I can offer my humblest apology!!! I wish I could remember your last name but time got away from me.... I am sorry!
FYI- I am happily married and not looking to reconnect.. I just want to apologize!!!
I just talked to Steve Ferney, who is a physician in Dallas, TX. He would have loved to join us at our 40th reunion, but had already planned a river cruise with his wife from Prague to Berlin during the last week of August. His brother, Dave Ferney, is also a doctor, and they work together in the Dallas area. I have such fond memories of Steve and his wonderful family. If you would like to get in touch with Steve he has a website. You just need to type in Dr. Stephen Ferney, Dallas, TX and the site will appear on the screen. Thanks again, Anne, for letting me stay with you during our reunion and this fantastic website!!!!!! Janet Gilmour Peacock
Nice work in creating this site and lining up events! I'm sorry I can't attend because I'll be traveling elsewhere, but I wish all of you the very best -- and you should know I still recognize you in your photos!
Here's a song I wrote, which I've dedicated to the class of 1970 -- may the battle of the homemade videos begin!
Just want to THANKS for setting up this site. It is well done and easy to get around. Recognizing that it was canned, but still there's good work that's gone into it. THANKS too for all that has gone into setting up the reunion. Looking forward to getting together. THANKS again.
There's a reference in the Shania Twain song, "Feel Like A Woman", about long hair. Do you remember when I put the bubble gum in your long, dark hair on the bus (I still feel sooo badly about it)? I think your mom had to cut it out with scissors and I got in a whole lot of trouble for it!!! It doesn't look like it did too much damage, however, as your hair looks great in your photo...and hopefully, it didn't leave any emotional scars either!
Many of you will remember me only from Sherman and Evergreen.
To help with the vision of how old we are and how far we've come, on my profile I'm posting class pictures from Sherman Elementary from 1st grade through the 6th.
If you have any input on the names I can't remember please feel free to let me know. I'd love to complete the list.
More importantly, a big hello to all of you that endured the first 9 years of public education with me.
Wow, Friday night was a great kickoff for a 40 year reunion. What a great job tonight for the school tour and pregame tailgate party. It was fun to see old class members and reminisce about high school days. Hats off to the Skyline70 reunion committee see you tomorrow night.
There were some GREAT candid black and white photos on this site a while back of the Concer Choir in various stages of totally embarrassing and classless behaviour which I would LOVE to be able to get copies of. Such memories should be treasured and passed on to posterity. I do not know who put all of that together -- BUT I WANT IT -- I NEED IT! I thank you. CharFarrCrawley First Alto, a little shy back then, but one hellof an amazing singer! No, really!
So as many of you are taking tons of pictures, yes including me. I am making a Memory Book and would like to get as many choices for it of pictures as I can. So please e-mail me tons and tons of pictures to yellowblondi@yahoo.com ok? If anyone is interested in a memory book they are around 30-40 dollars and when I am finished I will let you know, and you can order one. The quality is exceptional, and I know some times it's easier to grab a book than to put a DVD in. I want both! So let me know, I will send you the link as I am making it. Thanks ahead for all the good pics!
The picnic and dinner were delightful, inspiring, tearful and wonderful! Thanks to all of the class of '70 for sharing your event with me and Annie. We were touched, and grateful to be included.
Thanks to all those who helped plan this and put it together. It took such effort, energy, and thoughtfulness and showed the hearts that went into every step.
Roger Bird - thank you thank you thank you from our family - we love you!
Hi gang, the weekend was an absolute blast. Starting with check-in on Friday and coming to the realization that we all had in fact gotten 40 years older: proceeding to tailgating before the game (kept looking over our shoulder for Mr. Middleton to sneak up and bust us for drinking beer in the lot); sitting in the bleachers again (in spite of rain and wind--the double rainbow was an accurate favorable omen for the weekend); hanging out and catching up with so many old friends at the picnic, enjoying the great music (thanks to Roger); the entertaining and touching video (thanks to Syd and his lovely fiance Rosie); seeing Randy White good-naturedly being abused by Kerry and being such a great sport about it (absolutely hilarious). Congratulations and thanks to Robert, Liz, the entire committee, and everyone who had anything to do with the planning and execution. It was terrific. My lovely bride of 30 years noticed and commented several times about the great spirit of camaraderie that dominated every event. It is also wonderful that we have this great website that allows us to stay in touch easily (thanks Ann). I guess it is our owm individual problem if we don't use it to keep up on each other. I invite all of you to feel free to stay in touch with me. It would be my honor and privilege to stay current with all of you. Thanks again and God Bless all.
I really lack the words to describe what I feel from having attended this reunion. It was a very positive experience for me and one I really needed. Re-connecting with as many people as I could was the best experience I could have imagined. If I didn't connect with you, I am so sorry. Grab my arm at the next one and we'll definitely talk!
To Robert and the team: KUDOS for a job well done.
What a great, great time we had this weekend at the reunion!! It was so fun seeing all our old friends! Some of us have changed just a little, but it didn't take long to search the old memory banks and remember our friendships. Thanks to all those who spent so much time putting it all together for us to enjoy. Let's keep in touch!
Thanks for a great reunion.. This was the first one I've attended since graduation. Special thanks to Rob Ence and the gang for making this a memorable event. It was great to see all of you and the old school again and walk the hallowed halls. We had to leave the game early on Friday and missed the final score. If anyone reads this and could "clue me in" that would be great...Have a great summer ( or what's left of it)...stay out of trouble and hope to see you soon.
