I would like to post a well deserved thank  you ! to the commitee,  who spent what must have been a whole lot of time, doing what they did.  Well done.  So well done that I think that you should do it again,  your now pros. 

I have to admitt that I was just a bit skeptical,  If this was going to be somthing I really wanted to do.  But to my great suprise, Absolutly everybody there is to be commended for growing up well.  Your mothers should be proud.  And to the Faculty,  We really were listening and learning how to become real grownups. 

I'm proud to have included in a group such as this.  We really are somthing, after all these years.

Hey all you Eagles!  What a reunion, huh?! I can't imagine how much thought, planning, and work went into the entire thing ..and all for our benefit.  To those of you who contributed and worked so hard, thank you for your dedication to the class of '70 even after all these years.  I attended Saturday night's dinner (a big thanks to friends who talked me into going). After being there a while I realized how easy it was to reconnect with people I had known and cared about in high school. . .even after 40 years the bonds were still there.  I was delighted that so many of you attended. (So where were the rest of you I wanted to see?!)   

I'll always have my treasured memories of high school, but let's face it; at age 58 some memories can tend to blur.  So for me, Saturday night was all about renewing valued friendships that seem to never grow old.   My one regret?  That would be not attending Friday's game and Saturday's picnic.  Can't wait for the next reunion!  Please keep in touch.  Hugs and kisses to you all.

Since we just had our reunion, this comes as a shocking contrast to the fond retrospectives we shared.  Since many of your are outside the area, this may be the only means of learning of this tragedy.

Over the years I have tried to contact Doug by various means.  Because of his profile, he is relatively well "protected", which is as it should be.  If I find, or anyone else knows of or finds a means to contact him, please let us know.

WASHINGTON — Eric Wright, the 22-year-old son of KSL Newsradio host Doug Wright, died this weekend in Washington, D.C., in an apparent fall.

Police found Wright's body in the rear alley of the 3700 block of Georgia Avenue, NW, shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, according to a news release.

According to Kirk Jowers, director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah, Eric Wright started an internship for U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop just last Monday. He previously worked as a congressional page in high school.

Jowers said the roof of the Park Place Apartments, the building next to the alley and where all Hinckley Institute interns reside, is a popular gathering place with grassy areas to grill out and socialize.

Wright was a senior at the U., majoring in history teaching with a minor in political science. Jowers said he had a "dynamic personality."

"He reminded me of his father in some ways," Jowers said. "He was very interested and engaged in current events. He always had a huge smile... There isn't a better kid than Eric."

Jowers didn't know Wright's future plans but knew he was interested in public service. His brother, Ian, is also doing an internship in Washington, for the Republican Governors Association.

Until this moment, I did not know that Doug Wright was part of our class! And I worked with him at KSL! During a couple of times, when I returned to Salt Lake from SoCal, I was hired by Lourdes Cooke, the Human Resources VP at KSL, to be a receptionist/security guard at the main front desk of the station, or to rotate through the front desks of the various depts., such as TV, radio, and Video West. I also led tours.

The various employees would often check in with me, especially if they had key card problems. I also distributed to them their "trades" (discount products and services offered by sponsors). In these situations I would talk to Doug and neither of us seemed to be aware of having been in the same graduating class! I guess our class truly was THAT large!

My condolences go out to Doug and his family. This is a devasting and senseless tragedy. I hope they will get through it., somehow.

I was shocked and sickened by the news about Eric Wright. I have never gotten to know Doug well, but over the years I have had several chance meetings with he and his wife Dee, and called into his radio show several times.

Doug actually attended Granite High for most of his high school years. He mentioned to me once how he came to take a few classes at Skyline his senior year, but I've forgotten the details. Just the same, we should all share in his horrific loss as he and his family struggle to go on with life.

I want to thank everyone who organized the reunion.  You did an excellent job. Everything was great.  It was so nice to see so many people that I haven't seen in 40 years.  I hope to see even more people at the next reunion.  I wish the best of success to everyone. If you are ever in southeast Arizona come see us at our hotel.  Keep having fun.

 Bob Ence and I had an email exchange that I would like to open up to this forum.  It concerns one of our class mates, Bruce Gilbert.  

BRUCE GILBERT: I had Mage's debate class with Bruce, but we didn't get to know each other well until late in the 70's, when I bumped into him in the little town of Gardiner, MT. He was hiking around Yellowstone Nat'l Park and needed a place to stay for the winter.  I had an extra room, so he and his traveling companion, Adie, moved in. 

Bruce had an accident in high school that had caused spinal injury. He told me about his pain--excruciating.  I lost track of him when he moved out in the spring.  

As we prepared for the reunion, I wondered if he was still around.  Didn't see him log in to this site, nor on the "In Memory" pages, but the night of the reunion his class picture was shown as one of those who had died.  I inquired with Bob about getting his picture and a tribute put into the "In Memory' pages, but Ence said we needed confirmation of his passing.

Anybody out there know if Bruce Gilbert is still around?

 That was a wonderful reunion! Sincere thanks to all who worked before and behind the scene to bring such a warm, inclusive, thoughtful and fun agenda to life. The class of '70 is a beautiful bunch of grown-ups who still know how to have a good time. Yay!

Dear Fellow Eagles    A bad storm Saturday flooded part of our basement.  We having been pulling out wet boxes and sorting. In one box was  my yearbooks which I haven't seen for many years. It has been an afternon of nostalgia. 45 years ago on graduation night Cindy Goff and I went out to the airport parked and watched planes come and go. We talked about where life would take us.  Life has been hard especially for Cindy who passed away a few years ago, of cancer. I think of her every day.  My husband and I are serving a full time mission at home in  Riverton. I am amazed every meeting  at the young Elders and Sisters. Their energy ,courage,desire and love of God.I sat there today thinking was I  ever like that. The District Leader reminds me of a young man 45 years ago in a Honors Seminary Class.Robert Ence.I regret I did not enjoy high school more. have more fun,make more friends .Do you ever wish to go back just one day? I always wish I could have the brain I have now but the body I had then.But then I would have to worry about getting pregant again.  It has taken 63 years for me to finally enjoy life.
