Randy was part of the neighborhood core of great friends, a magical time for us all. He was very energetic and always thinking up a scheme.
Was a roommate of Jim's at BYU and really enjoyed his dry humour and his cooking. Not just regular food but wild game of all kinds. My favorite was his baked Sage Hen stuffed with veggies and a little buckshot.
I remember when he bought a 50 calibre Hawkin muzzleloader musket and we went up the mountain to show it off. We encountered some bad dudes who didn't like our style and threatened to have a gun battle with us, but Jim stood his ground with a fully loaded Hawkin and they eventually retreated with no shots fired. True story.
Really enjoyed his friendship, sad to hear of his passing.
What a great guy and pal. He had a calm but firm way about him. I think he was left-footed and played the left wing on the Skyline soccer team. We lost to Olympus in the final in double overtime as seniors. We started a team in the city league after high school and I wanted the team to be called the Jets and he wanted the name Nordica. He won that discussion. Not surprised to read about his wonderful and full life.
I remember you coming to one of our soccer games dressed in your cheer out fit and told us you were on assignment but seemed genuinely interested in supporting us. You were always such a fire ball of energy. I could tell you really cared about other people and reached out. I think the soccer game you came out to cheer us on was the state championship when we were seniors against Olympus that we lost 1 to 0 in double overtime. We were considered just a club and not an official sport back in those days, but I felt cool having a real live cheerleader on the side lines for at least one game. Thanks for that good memory...

I remember you. That little car of yours that took forever to get up to freeway speed with you swearing like a madman. You made me laugh all the time. Thx for the memory and your service to our country. Kent
